Meetings for 10/24 will happen 9:OOam at Hotel Parisi - we know that there are many affected by the fires, but with the cancellation of the meeting last week and the fact that most of the possible attendees live in the area which is unaffected, the meeting will happen as planned.

Parking Solutions for La Jolla
It’s Time to Take Control of Parking Problems in the Village!

Don’t let the city of San Diego dictate parking solutions for La Jolla.
Let’s decide for ourselves.

We need to:
• Make it easier for residents to park and shop in the Village
• Prevent employees from parking in front of homes
• Stop the city from putting diagonal parking on residential streets
• Prevent the installation of conventional parking meters by the city

We also need to:
• Encourage office workers to use their spaces in parking garages
• Provide enough parking for visitors, so they don’t overcrowd our streets
• Determine if we can solve our problems without paid on-street parking

How do we take control from the city? There is a proposal right now at City Hall, developed by a city-wide, citizen-driven Task Force, which will change the way the city manages parking – and give power back to local communities.

The Task Force’s report does not specify or impose any parking solutions for La Jolla. It does give La Jolla the ability to control its own destiny for the first time.

Don’t believe misinformation that this is a plan to put parking meters in La Jolla. It’s not.

What can you do?

The Community Parking District meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am at the Hotel Parisi, located at 1111 Prospect.

You are invited to a Community Conversation with Dr. Donald Shoup, UCLA Professor of Urban Planning. The event, hosted by the La Jolla Community Parking District Advisory Board, will be held Wednesday, March 21, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm at the Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla in the Sherwood Auditorium. Dr. Shoup will share his thoughts about parking problems and their solutions. Find out more.

“Parking is a public resource, not a revenue source for the city. It’s time neighborhoods had more of a say in its management.”
