Beautiful and isolated, Black’s is a two-mile long stretch of beach located north of Scripps Pier, beneath the Torrey Pines Gliderport and close to UCSD. It is also, less commonly, known as Torrey Pines State Beach.
The beach resides at the base of 300-ft cliffs. Access it by walking from Shores or descending the steep, rough cliff path from above.
The north portion of Black’s is clothing-optional, where nudists bask in the sun and play volleyball without bathing suits.
This beach has no public facilities. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited, and there is no smoking allowed. Please no litter or excessive noise. No dogs allowed after 9am. Dogs permitted after 4pm in the winter and after 6pm year round..
